The training will give you the opportunity to learn how to commit to daily meditation and asana practice. With journaling and weekly meetings with a partner, there is space for developing ways of articulating your individual experience.

The training draws on somatic practices as a way of knowing ourselves more intimately; hereby reclaiming the ability to make our own choices regarding the health of our minds and bodies. Throughout the training, you will discuss philosophy and ethics that are applicable to your own daily life and investigate methods of sharing the practice with your own community.

The Peoples Yoga emphasizes that in order to develop the pedagogical skills needed to teach and empower others we must first “do the work ourselves”. The schedule for the training is Fridays 6-9pm, Saturdays and Sundays 9-12am and 1-5pm.

Modern, self-help culture seems to have both an excess and a deficit of real true help. Societally, we have the largest body of information to draw from, ever. 24/7 access to the most profound teachings from the greatest teachers, saints, and sages throughout time. 📚 We can get it all at the push of a button. We have life coaches knocking on doors. Just about anything we want can be delivered to our door tomorrow (thanks @amazon). Technological solutions to just about every problem we face (there’s an app for that). 💻 Never before has it been easier to access resources in order to get our needs (and our wants) met. ☀️ 🌈 So why are there record high percentages children diagnosed with clinical disorders? Why are the obesity rates going through the roof? Why are divorce rates skyrocketing? Why are we sicker, more anxious and depressed, more confused, more psychologically unstable, and less successful in our essential relationships than perhaps ever before? . Are we suffering from a surplus of some kind? Or is something essential lacking amidst all this helpful abundance? What do you think? Really. . . . #help #selfhelp #alittlehelpfrommyfriends #askthequestion #health #healthcrisis #mentalhealth #mentalhealthctisis #whathelps #whocanhelp #triangle #yogaassists #canyogahelp #pdxyoga #yogainpdx #clinicaldisorders #obesity #divorce #marriage #relationshipgoals

The school recommends that you have at least one year of regular asana practice before entering the program. They also encourage all students that may enter their program to be inclusive and have the courage to confront blind spots regarding subjects such as racism. The training takes place on Tuesdays, Thursdays, Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays, so students must be prepared for study-packed weeks.
