Ale, a native of Costa Rica, resides in the picturesque region of Playa Hermosa in the Central Pacific.

In 2006, Ale’s transformative journey with yoga began, providing her with the guidance she sought during a period of darkness and self-discovery. Through yoga, she found solace, overcoming anxiety, sexual abuse, and trauma, and rediscovering her true self.

To Ale, yoga is a sacred ritual that honors the body as a temple, a pathway to reconnecting with our authentic selves and experiencing the vastness of Absolute Reality. This profound joy ignited within her a passion for sharing the practice and serving others, making it her life’s mission.

Even before her yoga journey commenced, India beckoned to Ale’s heart. Answering the call, she ventured to India in 2011 and returned three more times, spending several months during each visit. This humbling journey immersed her in intensive studies of Ashtanga Vinyasa Yoga, Iyengar Yoga, and Kashmir Shaivism under the guidance of esteemed masters.

Driven by her dedication as both a practitioner and teacher, Ale continues to deepen her knowledge through constant study under renowned teachers. She has completed numerous trainings and workshops in Costa Rica and India. Presently, she teaches weekly group and private classes, hosts transformative retreats, and leads comprehensive teacher training programs in Costa Rica. With every ounce of her being, she pours her heart and soul into her teaching, delivering profound, insightful, and enjoyable experiences to devoted students and fellow teachers.

Today, Ale’s unique style transcends traditional yoga classes. She skillfully combines modern postural yoga with mobility drills and various approaches to flexibility and stability. Through her yoga teacher training programs, Ale equips aspiring teachers with the tools to nurture their inner teacher and unleash their creativity through thoughtful class planning.

For Ale, yoga is a path of embracing one’s true self without apology, a journey of self-discovery and personal growth.

MASTERY: Facilitator and CEO

From the very beginning, Cody realized his calling wasn’t to stand at...

From the very beginning, Cody realized his calling wasn’t to stand at the front of the room teaching poses, but rather to serve as a beacon of support and guidance for others embarking on their own yoga journey. He witnessed firsthand the incredible impact yoga could have on every aspect of life—mentally, emotionally, physically, and spiritually—and felt a deep-seated passion for assisting others in navigating these realms.

His journey took a pivotal turn when he found himself volunteering at Two Trees Wellness, bringing yoga into schools across LA and Orange County. The experience inspired him to further spread the benefits of yoga far and wide. In 2018 and 2019, he organized and ran The Yoga Expo in Pasadena, connecting with fellow yogis and enthusiasts alike.

In 2022, Cody hosted to the Yoga Expo in Portland, where serendipity introduced him to Adam Carney, the original founder of East+West. Cody admired the vision and mission of East+West and started to explore how he could transition his career to dedicate himself to yoga full-time. He envisioned a career where he could share the benefits of yoga, support local communities, and provide job opportunities to new teachers.

In January 2024, Cody’s dream became reality as he officially assumed leadership of East+West. With unwavering dedication and a vision fueled by passion and heart-centered entrepreneurship, Cody aims to elevate the already exceptional yoga teacher training program by introducing innovative offerings and initiatives.

Under his stewardship, East+West embarks on a new chapter, one marked by philanthropy and community service. Through our foundation, we extend our support to the communities we touch, fostering positive change through donations and service projects. Additionally, our newly launched Academy provides students with ongoing education and invaluable connections to employment and teaching opportunities, ensuring their journey doesn’t end with certification, but rather, marks the beginning of a lifelong odyssey of growth and fulfillment.

Join Cody and the East+West family as we journey together towards a brighter, more connected world, one breath at a time.
