200 Hour Training Program, Ubud, Bali

Share a life-changing experience as you journey through the rich traditions of yoga with inspiring teachers and students from all over the world. You will gain a strong foundation in the tradition and techniques of yoga necessary for competently teach at a 200-hour level. This course is held at a majestic retreat center nestled in the sun-soaked rice-fields of Bali.

The East+West 200 hour program is a masterfully crafted, world-class yoga program. This yoga instructor certification course covers an in-depth study of Asana (yoga postures), Pranayama (breathe practices), Meditation, Philosophy, Anatomy, Prana, Class Sequencing/adjustments, as well as detailed instruction on developing a personal meditation practice. Led by our highly experienced and compassionate instructors, we guide students through an in-depth journey through yogic philosophy, practice and science. Daily Schedule

We design our daily schedule to keep you engaged, but not over-worked. Our teachers utilize the schedule as guidelines, not a rigid structure. It’s very common that our teachers will adjust the schedule intuitively on certain days to enhance your experience. We are also careful to build in regular periods of break and self-study.

Yoga Style

Our training is a foundational yoga training, which pulls mainly from traditional Hatha yoga, and modern Vinyasa yoga. Students will leave the training with a foundational understanding that can be applied to any area of speciality in the future if they so choose. Our approach is to teach you how yoga works rather than simply what to do, so they have the tools for life.

Pranayama (Breathing techniques)

Pranayama, a light form of breathing techniques is a daily part of the training, usually performed in the morning. Pranayama is a powerful practice for clearing stuck energy patterns in the body to help student sink deeper into meditation. You will leave the daily sessions feeling incredibly energized and relaxed. Pranayama also has powerful detoxifying benefits.


This course has a strong foundation in meditation. In fact, yoga was originally invented as a method to help practitioners get into deeper states of meditation. Each day is begun with a light meditation session, followed by a longer, deeper session at night. You will leave each session feeling relaxed and clear of mind.


Yoga Philosophy

What is yoga? Where did it come from? What is “god?” How can I experience it for myself? These are the topics of discussion Gurumukh will dive into during Yoga Philosophy. This is often students favorite part of the training.

Indian philosophy is very different from western philosophy in that it calls students to observe themselves rather than to inquire into the external world. According to yogic philosophy, “heaven” or “nirvana” is the state of reality- the true nature of things- hidden from us in plain sight. The work of the yogic philosopher is to move beyond the mind in order to experience the true nature of things directly for themselves.

Anatomy & Physiology

A strong understanding of the yogic and energetic anatomy is essential as a teacher. A basic understanding of anatomy and physiology helps students understand how to safely practice and instruct others. This training covers not only the western anatomy but also the yogic and energetic anatomy including the chaktras, nadis, and energy channels of the body. This is a fundamentally different view of the body, which is a practical tool that helps direct their practice to relieve specific areas of discomfort or “dis-ease” in the body.

Rather than focusing on naming/identifying the body elements, this training focuses on developing a holistic and conceptual understanding of the construction of the body, so students can develop a more complete and practically useful understanding of the body.

The best way to learn to actually teach yoga professional is from someone who has actually done it before. All our trainings include one popular, successful yoga teacher from a major market like LA, New York or San Francisco, to help guide students through the practical and often difficult aspects of actually becoming a professional yoga teacher and making money doing it.
