How Teacher Training Changed My Life

Transcript:

Hi I’m Andrew Macfarlane and I just wanted to make a video to talk about the impact that teacher training had on my life. For me I’d been practicing yoga for quite some time- about 5 years before I did my training. For me I always knew I wanted to go deeper, I was practicing quite often, maybe 3-5 times a week, but to go into an immersion where I was practicing almost all day and consistently allowed me to break into new areas and feel into new layers of my body, my spirit, my breathe.

I’ve found that any time I’ve been able to go into an immersion the realizations and the evolutions that take place is quite profound and is very different than going into situations where you practice for an hour, and then go back to your daily life. That lives in isolation, but when you’re able to put all your attention into intentional meditation or intentional asana or intentional pranayama, I find that’s been really powerful in my life and teacher training facilitated that. It allowed me to dive into all the things I wanted to in deeper ways.

Also to have guidance from people who have been doing it so much longer. I find that I have a deep appreciation for mentorship, there’s some things that cannot be transferred through words, but rather just presence from people who have been practicing yoga for a lifetime. That for me has been my experience around it and if you haven’t done it yet I highly encourage you to dive in.
